Warrantech Consumer Product Services, Inc. (WCPS), a leading independent provider of service contracts and after-market warranties on consumer electronic products and home appliances, announced a new contract with LEDs America, Inc. Based in Jupiter, Fla., LEDs America designs and manufactures a full line of energy saving LED-O lighting products.
A first for Warrantech, the LEDs America contract opens a door to a new industry. Warrantech will serve as the administrator of the new LEDs America program, and will provide three and five year service contract coverage on all cutting-edge LED-O product lines.
“As the newest addition to Warrantech’s rapidly expanding list of clients, this is an exciting opportunity,” said Joel San Antonio, CEO and president of Warrantech Corporation, the parent company of WCPS. “LED lighting is a huge market, and we are on the forefront of this expanding new industry. Customized to meet the needs of each client, LEDs America’s coverage is specifically designed to keep their full line of LED products serviced and in good operating condition. In addition, Warrantech will provide a competitive product marketing advantage for LED by providing long term manufacturers coverage insured through an A- rated carrier.”
“Our LEDs are on the most advanced lighting products in the market,” said Joel Westermarck, president and CEO of LEDs America, Inc. “With products that target commercial, government and retail sectors, we wanted a recognized leader in the extended service coverage industry to back our products. With more than two decades of experience, we are confident that Warrantech will provide the best service to our customers.”
LEDs America products consume 50 to 90 percent less energy than any other traditional lamp, while providing the brightest LEDs that are commercially available. Equally important, LED-O products are environmentally friendly, and do not contain dangerous mercury, emit infrared or ultraviolet radiation.
“Developing LED lighting coverage is our newest innovation,” noted San Antonio. “Warrantech is a diversified company that offers a wide range of service contract coverage for consumer products, appliances, home and auto. To stay ahead of industry trends, LED service contracts are a natural step for us as we continue creating innovative new programs.”
“Our ability to quickly create and implement specialized programs is one of the reasons Warrantech continues to dominate the industry, and why more than 1,800 new dealers signed on to sell Warrantech’s extended service plans during the past year,” he added.
